Bourgeois JEZEBEL Event at Intermix Atlanta

Last night I was on the guest list for an event JEZEBEL Magazine was hosting at Intermix Atlanta to celebrate the launch of BlackBerry’s new pink Curve. Since the pink phone was done as a tribute to October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I made a point to dress accordingly (grey suit, pink tie, and a pink label ribbon).

I got there just after the party started and at the door I was handed a gift bag ticket, meaning I completed the requested RSVP and I was entitled to receive my present (which included the new pink BlackBerry).

The only person I was able to have an actual conversation with was a beautiful woman who happened to work for one of JEZ’s competitors. She was invited by someone from Verizon Wireless and I didn’t think there would be any problem with accompanying her during the party. Well, apparently that wasn’t the best thing to do because it not only got attention of the publisher, but people also started to gossip about us.

This is where I started to remember why I hate JEZEBEL Magazine so much…

People weren’t being friendly or social and just when I thought the crowd couldn’t get any more bourgeois Sheree Whitfield walked in with her crew.

I went to claim my gift bag and I patiently waited for a few minutes only to be told that they had run out. When I asked Austin, the Regional Nobody from Intermix, she was rude to me and said that she “couldn’t just create a gift bag for [me].”

Fuck that! Don’t these people know who I am?

I am David K. Burda.

  1. David, I agree YOU SHOULD’VE GOTTEN A BAG! So did you escalate the situation at all beyond what you have posted here?
