RuPaul’s Drag Race
I love drag shows, drag queens, and female impersonation in general. I could (and have) sit and watch a drag show for hours as long as the performers were interesting enough. Charlie Brown’s Caberet in Atlanta used to provide that for me, but even after opening in their own venue after Backstreet closed, it has finally ceased operation last year.
With that being said, there’s some good news for someone like me who has an opinion about everything and likes to judge drag queens. Enter RuPaul’s Drag Race, a new reality show bring produced for LOGO. Right now the show and the “contest” are in the ultra-preliminary stage… as in, the competition hasn’t officially started, but performers can create a profile and try to have users vote for them. The top vote recipients will have a chance to be cast on the show. I recently signed up as a Voting Member, so look out for commentary on my profile as I follow some of Atlanta’s finest (in addition to some other amazing performers from around the country).
Here’s a video from NKP (Nicole Page Brooks) that is currently posted on her profile.
