So, as it turns out there is more to this story than meets the eye (well, maybe that’s not correct because it stemmed from what we were all seeing, but I digress). According to a source at Jezebel Magazine, there are at least four confirmed participants in the series… Here’s what my source had to say:
“Bravo is being overly-secretive about all of the details, but, in the meantime, what I do know is that there are four women that have been confirmed, and who were in attendance at Sheree’s fashion show two weekends ago. I have a feeling all or at least most of them are Africa-American; one is Keith Sweat’s former wife, Lisa Hartwell, currently the wife of a former NFL player, and she has her own jewelry line and is a personal trainer; another is Sheree Whitfield, the fashionista and designer, but the names of the other 2 are under wraps. I think there should be a fifth one (like there have been for Orange County and New York), but the folks at Bravo are being very tight-lipped on the whole thing. In addition to the K’orus wine event, the “wives” have been shopping up a storm!! I actually ran into them taping one of the ladies at Intermix at Phipps Plaza, and though she remained in the dressing room during my visit, Bravo had me sign a release form (FBI much?)! They (as in, one or more of them, unidentified by name) have been seen scanning the racks at Runway Atlanta, a local women’s boutique, and enjoying spa services at Entebello Modern Apothecary & Spa in Buckhead. It seems there will be an emphasis on shopping and spa-going for our Southern peaches.”
Jezebel Magazine is awful and I don’t ever read it, but during a routine blog search for dirt about “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” I ran across an alleged sighting of the cast at the launch party for K’orus Wine.
I found this recent posting on craigslist.org seeking candidates for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Looks like a scam to me, especially since the show is reportedly already in production. What do you think?
According to several people that contributed to an earlier post regarding “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Sheree Whitfield, wife of Atlanta Falcons player Bob Whitfield, is participating in the show. Thank you to everyone that added comments and I’m anxious to find out additional details.
More than 300 people have come to this site after searching for information on this series, which leads me to believe that there is some truth to the rumors. I’m having trouble confirming it though… According to RealityTVWorld.com, Bravo has ordered episodes of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” and there isn’t any mention of an Atlanta version.
So the search goes on and I appreciate your help in finding out what’s up. I started a Talk Conversation on Yelp.com and several Yelpers confirmed that they have heard about the show and several possible derivatives including “Buckhead Betties.” Hmmm…
Everyone in Atlanta should know who Baton Bob is and if you don’t you betta aks. I reviewed him here on Yelp.com. It was my very first Review of the Day (since then I have had 3 more). Anyway, one of his wishes is to be on The Ellen Degeneres Show and I think we should all try to make that happen. He was even featured on TBS.
You can click the link below to send a message to Ellen and her show’s producers requesting that Bob appear. Thanks to Melissa B. for suggesting this today in her Yelp Talk Conversation.
At the request of some friends I found myself at The Wild Mustang, a gay country bar in Atlanta, GA. I’ve been to bars with similar themes before, but this one was completely boring last Saturday night. The DJ (DJ Joey) was playing endless slow songs from about 10:30 p.m. until I left at 11:15 p.m. In the middle of all of it was the only source of entertainment for me… a line dance. Here’s what I was watching…
Obviously the second video had better sound quality, but beyond that it looks like the black folks have us beat when it comes to line dancing. They worked it out… to an R&B song! The next time my friends want to go line dancing/watch a line dance/be entertained I’m bringing them to a club like the second video. You betta aks!
